Shoes Shoes Shoes

After indulging in a cuppa Caramel Cappuccino at The Loaf on a lazy Tuesday, the clock struck 7.30 pm. And I was supposed to rush off for my Yoga class at 8.00 pm. Then I thought to myself. "Here I am at Empire Mall and I haven't walked a mall since CNY, oh what the heck, just a walk won't kill right? I can re-schedule my Yoga class anyway."

AND SO I walked and I felt the excitement bubbling inside me. That's crazy! The excitement ONLY GIRLS will feel (ok, I can't speak for ALL the girls but for the majority at least) walking pass the shops beaming at us; especially those with RED signboards of "SALE" or "FURTHER MARKDOWN". How can I feel so right when it's so wrong? LOL!

I entered Charles & Keith, aaahhh....shoes Shoes SHOES!! I've been holding myself too long, I thought to myself. I felt like a child in a candy shop wanting to try every candy I see!
Then I spotted a lovely pair of stiletto heels. Just like that, I turned to the shop attendant, pointed at the heels and gushed "Can I have a size 6 pleaaaase?" (I swear I did drag the word please when I spoke)
I loved them..! But they came in 2 colours, which one should I take? Okay, let's try the pair in the other colour. AND I loved them too..!

I think there was a point of time that the shop attendant and I were staring at each other in silence; for a few seconds perhaps. I presumed the question in his head at that moment would be "Which one would she buy?" and the question in MY head at that moment was "Can I take both?" My heart answered in the affirmative. I have NO IDEA what my head would answer and I don't think I would want to listen to my head at that point of time.

Then, I spotted ANOTHER pair. I thought I was having a dejavu (the feeling of experiencing something that has happened but am uncertain about) but I was not. I was ACTUALLY doing it AND repeating it. I bought the other pair in TWO colours as well.
At the payout counter, I can only think "Alright, don't judge me, people. I am contributing to your sales after all." =P

Back at home, I opened my shoes cabinet, looked at my collection and gushed again. Oh babies, welcome your new members.

Why do you run? Forrest!

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

It reminds me of the movie Forrest Gump, which I've watched for a good 3 times, I think, whenever I walked pass it. Yet, I've never stepped my feet inside Bubba Gump since it started operation at The Curve. Cynically, I thought to myself: here comes another restaurant with those marketing gimmicks :- those places where you think you will be re-living doses of scenes from the movie by dining there - and the food will not great.

With Viv, the enthusiastic part timer
Well, i took my first step inside Bubba Gump and my first bite in there with a few friends last night as my baby sister started her part-time job waiting tables there and I thought it's an obligation for her sister to pay her a visit. The environment was quite cosy and pleasant and I would say the food is not great though but OK. We had the Boat Thrash - a mixture of fried shrimp, fish fillet and fries for starter, 1 BBQ combo of mixed beef ribs + chicken and 1 Scampi - linguini with seafood as main courses. We spent a good RM200+ for 5 pax. Honestly, I wouldn't run back to dine there if given the choice.

But having said that, Bubba Gump does have its attraction. It does remind you of Forrest Gump once you are in there. The TV replayed scenes from Forrest Gump over and over again. That's one. And it has an interesting way to place an order. I was not briefed on this when I got there and no one attended to me despite me raising my hands for a few times! When my frustrations starts to boil, Jaz (who just reached) said to me "You did not turn the plate!" I was like "What plate??" These are the plates..
Apparently, we have to flip it to "STOP FORREST STOP" if we want to ask for service. I was like "Ohh now I see.....No wonder no one "layan" me just now!" LOL!

Forrest Gump is a good movie. It inspires me.

My mama always said, "You gotta put the past behind you before you can move on. And I think that's what my running is all about."

Happy Hour Session at Sid's Pub

Guinness says it all
"One pint of Guinness puhlezzz?" That's my order as soon as I landed my butt on the bench. I just wanted a gulp of the cold drink after a looooong night. Ning and KP were at Sid's Pub since what..7pm? My initial plan was to have a good "happy hour" session with them but when I was a no show at 10pm, Ning called and threatened that they will call it a night if I don't show up anytime soon! Ok, it's my bad for the "late show" but I have good reasons for that! Here's a brief chronology of events:-

6pm: Legitimate time to leave office but still checking on the SPAs ( I have a good 30 SPAs to check at that time)
7pm: The time when Ning and KP were happily gulping down their drinks, I'm still at office checking the SPAs.
8pm: Still. No dinner yet.
9pm: Tummy growling, muscle tensing, forehead frowning- still checking. Lucky me, my exploding emotions were subsided by a warm dinner delivery from Ipoh! Salted chicken! Still warm at hand. Appreciate it to the max!
9.30pm: Work completed! Planning to rush home and share my dinner with sis (have been swallowing my saliva since God knows what time) ONLY to realise neither me nor 2 of my clerks have the office keys!!! (at the verge of pulling my hair at that point of time).
9.40pm: Desperate call made to our chambering student to bring over the keys for us.
10pm: The arrival of our chambering student.
10.10pm: Office successfully locked.
10.20pm: Reached home and chomped down dinner.
10.40pm: Sped to Sid's Pub
11pm: Please refer to the opening of this post.

Well, i do believe I have legitimate reasons being late right? Minus the fact that the delay was partly due to us assuming each other have the office keys when none of us have!

That night was good. Sid's Pub is cosy with warm lighting, and Guinness in happy hour price all night long, what more can you ask? And surprisingly, I was complimented for drinking Guinness by a table of gentlemen sitting across! Apparently, I amazed them. There must be an unexplainable correlation between a girl drinking Guinness and the attraction she transmitted by the doing so. LOL! And what more can I say, one of them is awfully cute.

Look at us all smiles with Guinness =P
